From One Truck to a Full-Service Tree Company

Arbor Best Tree Care started with a simple setup, an F-150, a dump trailer, and two people ready to build something of their own. Joshua Bucholtz and Jonathan Sullivan brought different backgrounds and skills to the business, then learned, worked, and grew together job by job.

Over the years, Arbor Best has grown into a full-service tree care company with chipper trucks, loaders, a stump grinder, a log truck, multiple trailers, and a 70-foot NiftyLift. That growth reflects years of hands-on experience, hard work, and a commitment to serving customers across Middle Tennessee.

About Jonathan Sullivan

Jonathan Sullivan is co-owner of Arbor Best Tree Care and brings nearly two decades of hands-on tree care experience to the company.

Jonathan began his career in lawn care and landscaping before moving into professional tree work. He spent about 10 years working with a Nashville tree care company, where he gained extensive field experience and developed the skills that would later help him build his own tree care business.

After years in the industry, Jonathan decided it was time to work for himself. He called Joshua Bucholtz with the idea of starting a tree company, and Arbor Best Tree Care was born.

Jonathan’s experience became the foundation of the company’s field operations.

He is married to Jessica Sullivan and is a father of two. His years of experience, practical knowledge, and commitment to quality work continue to shape how Arbor Best approaches every job.

About Joshua Bucholtz

Joshua Bucholtz is co-owner of Arbor Best Tree Care. Before entering the tree care industry, Joshua spent 20 years serving in the U.S. military.

He joined shortly after 9/11 and worked as a helicopter electrician, a career that taught him discipline, attention to detail, and the importance of doing a job right.

After being stationed in Tennessee in 2008, Joshua eventually teamed up with Jonathan Sullivan to start Arbor Best Tree Care. Joshua learned the tree care trade hands-on, working alongside Jonathan and studying the industry as the company grew. Today, he takes pride in seeing a difficult job completed safely and knowing the customer is happy with the result.

Family is at the center of why Joshua works as hard as he does. For him, success means providing for his children, taking care of customers, and making sure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.

Jonathan and his crew did a fantastic job as we discussed the removal of a dead tree and trimming off some large branches that were hanging over my driveway.  I also asked if they could trim some branches from a couple of trees behind my house.  They did a great job with that and cleaned everything up nicely.  After they had finished, I drove down my driveway and WOW!!  I was Very Pleasantly Surprised to see that they had gone above and beyond, trimming a lot of brush & branches along the sides of my very long driveway.  That would have taken me forever.  They worked hard and longer than what was expected.  If you need tree work, this is the Tree Service that you need!!
